Los Haitises National Park is an official trekking tour into the wilderness. It is an adventurous trip and empathy with nature. The term Haitises means “Mountain Range” or “Highlands,” which is the language of Taino Indian inhabitants located in the Dominican Republic. The portion of the Los Haitises National Park is open for the visitors, but the entire park is about 1,600square kilometers. This beautiful Caribbean sanctuary is home to natural mangrove forests, isolated beaches, Taino Cave Drawings, Pirate hideouts, and a large variety of beautiful flora and fauna.
Los Haitises National Park Tour is fun and exciting and the tour starts from the private dock in the town of Samana, Dominican Republic, we will provide a comfortable ride, and our boats are secured, and they take you to Los Haitises National Park safely. UNESCO recognizes the place as a Biosphere Reserve.
The tour starts in “Cayo Los Pajaros,” which is also known as Bird Cay where you can see the conceptive areas of the birds that live in reserve. You can see different breeds of newly born baby birds depending on your visit of the year. The scene is marvelous to watch as the small birds are fed by their parents and make an impressive moment among the visitors. The tour continues to Boca de Tiburon, which is also known as Mount of the Shark, a small island or Cay, home to stalactite formations formed over a period in this moist region. The tour proceeds to Mangrove canals where the visitors can find various types of rare mangroves and the beautiful and natural flora and fauna in the park.
Once you reach the destination, you will board a catamaran at the coastal town of Sabana de la Mar, located on the outskirts of Los Haitises National Park walk through the winding canals of the amazing mangrove forests, which is a perfect home for thousands of bird species, reptiles, fish, and crustaceans. After that, you will be taken to the San Lorenzo Bay, which give a picturesque view and you can show off your photographic skills at this spot. The view offers the lush greens of the park, and you can enjoy the majestic mountains of Samana from a distance. If you have some company, then you may get to experience the bay’s deep waters, and you can as well get to see dolphins in this area.
On the way back from the park, you can enjoy the delicious lunch served at Yanigua Spa; it is a beautiful ranch that offers the beautiful countryside feel with greenery and a beautiful waterfall. You can relax, refresh, and take a swim in the cool and fresh waters, during your stay at the ranch.
